Released in 1991, "Heart of Hearts" tells the story of love, loss, death, and rebirth. The songs were written between 1987 and 1991, a period of time in which Gatewood was tackling deep self-analysis around life and relationships - propelled, no doubt, by the confusion and loss of the AIDS epidemic.

A prolific songwriter, this is Scott's most introspective and honest work. What a gift, what a loss, what a legacy.

Scott Gatewood (1952-1996) was a rare talent, penning post-modern torch songs that captured love and loss at the height of the AIDS crisis. A natural performer, comedian, and man about town, Scott lived in San Francisco with his partner John, also lost to the epidemic.
